Privacy Policy

This policy explains how your personal data is handled when you use the Verdant mobile app and the verdant.softwarify.co website. The data controller is Softwarify. Questions and requests: verdant-app@softwarify.co.

What we collect

The app doesn't ask you to create an account or a password; an anonymous account is created for you on first launch. We process:

• Account and device: anonymous account ID, device identifier, country, app version, subscription status.
• Profile (if you provide it): your name, experience level, pets (cats/dogs), your home's light level, your city, approximate location and time zone. If you tap "Use my location", your device location is read once, at approximate accuracy.
• Photos: plant photos you take or pick for identification or diagnosis. Photos of plants you save to your garden are stored with your account.
• Plant data: the plants in your garden, nicknames, rooms, care logs, diagnosis and scan history, propagation records.
• Email (optional): the address you add to back up your garden, verified with a one-time code.
• Marketing consent (optional): whether you opted in, the consent text and version you saw, date, language, app version, IP address and device/browser details — so we can prove your consent.
• Email engagement: whether emails we sent you were delivered, opened, which links were clicked, unsubscribes and bounces.
• Purchases: purchase verification data from the App Store / Google Play (product, transaction ID, subscription expiry). We never see card or payment details; Apple or Google process payments.
• Feedback and rating: messages you send from Settings and the rating you give the app.

The app contains no advertising or third-party tracking/analytics SDKs. Watering reminders and home-screen widget data stay on your device.

Why we use it

• To provide the service (performance of contract): plant identification and diagnosis, storing your garden and care schedule, reminders, verifying your subscription, backing up your garden with your email and restoring it on a new device.
• To keep the service secure and working (legitimate interest): preventing abuse, fixing bugs, checking version compatibility, aggregate usage statistics.
• Marketing emails (consent): care tips, news and offers — only if you opted in.
• Legal obligations: records we must keep, such as purchases and proof of consent.

Service providers we share data with

We don't sell your data. We share it only with these providers, only as needed to run the service:

• Supabase — database, authentication and photo storage.
• Vercel — hosting for the app's server (API) and this website.
• Google (Gemini API) — AI analysis of your photo for identification and diagnosis.
• Brevo — sending verification-code emails and, if you opted in, marketing emails; email engagement statistics.
• Apple and Google — processing and verifying in-app purchases.
• Open-Meteo — the text you type in city search, to suggest locations.

International transfers

These providers may process data outside Türkiye (for example in the European Union or the United States). Your data is transferred only for the purposes above and under the providers' contractual data-protection commitments.

Marketing emails

We send marketing emails only if you ticked that option in the app — you can back up your garden without it. You can opt out anytime via the "Unsubscribe" link in every email or the switch in Settings. Engagement statistics (opens, clicks) are collected through tracking links and pixels in the emails.

Retention and deleting your account

We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete your account anytime in the app under Settings → Delete account: your account, plants, photos, care and diagnosis records, email and consent records are deleted, and your email is removed from our email provider's lists. Deleted data is purged from providers' backups within a reasonable period. Records we're legally required to keep may be retained for the required time.

Security

All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Plant photos are not public; they're shown through time-limited links created only for your account. Access to your data is limited to your account's authentication. Still, no system is completely secure.

Your rights

Under Turkey's Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, Art. 11) and, where applicable, the GDPR, you can ask whether we process your data, request information or a copy, correction or deletion, object to processing, learn who it was shared with, and seek compensation for damages. Send requests to verdant-app@softwarify.co; we'll reply within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Children

Verdant isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Website

On verdant.softwarify.co we record which pages are viewed, where visitors come from (referring site and campaign parameters) and browser details, as anonymous statistics. We don't use advertising cookies. The admin area is for our internal use only.

Changes

We may update this policy; we'll announce significant changes in the app or by email. The current version is always on this page.
